Contraband Movie Review

Thanks to OMY.sg, I got invited to the preview screening of Contraband with the boyf on Tuesday. And here's my review on it:

Synopsis

Chris Farraday (Mark Wahlberg) long ago abandoned his life of crime, but after his brother-in-law, Andy (Caleb Landry Jones), botches a drug deal for his ruthless boss, Tim Briggs (Giobani Ribisi), Chris is forced back into doing what he does best--running contraband--to settle Andy's debt. Chris is a legendary smuggler and quickly assembles a crew with the help of his best friend, Sebastian (Ben Foster), to head to Panama and return with millions in counterfeit bills. Things quickly fall apart and with only hours to reach the cash, Chris must use his rusty skills to successfully navigate a treacherous criminal network of brutal drug lords, cops and hit men before his wife, Kate (Kate Beckinsale), and sons become their target.

A remake of the Icelandic 2009 film, Reykjavik-Rotterdam, it’s interesting to note that Baltasar Kormakur, the star of the Icelandic film is the director for Contraband. But that's pretty much the most fascinating bit about the movie. Perhaps, except the twist towards the end of the movie. Contraband is a good movie but not fantastic and might be forgettable for some.

The camera work here is certainly not amateur; using a handheld camera, it’s somewhat reminiscent of a documentary. Contraband is a fast paced movie from start till end; it doesn’t beat around the bush but delves into the main plot right away.

With all that action, there are still parts of the film that is emotionally-fuelled or humour infused. And the performance of the main casts are very much convincing too. Without the twist at the end, I would have said that Contraband comes off as a little bland. But with the twist however, it makes the plot a lot stronger, making it a good film. But somehow, I feel that the movie is lacking a little something that will earn it a place on the list of must-watch movies of 2012. Still, it’s a good movie, just not superbly fantastic.

It was my first ever outdoor fashion photoshoot and I must say, it's really different from studio shoots. FlairClosetLabel decided to have the shoot at Chjimes, much to my delight. I absolutely adore that place. I love the architecture and the mood of the place and it is especially beautiful at night.

Here are some of the sneak peaks from the shoot that day for Collection 1, which will be launched on tuesday at 9pm.

I actually do like outdoor photoshoots because there's a certain mood to the photos that studio shoots cannot capture. The only grouse would be the weather, aside from being hot and humid, it's a factor you cannot control. But thank goodness the shoot that day went smoothly.

Sometimes good company is all you need, good food is just an added bonus.

The first part of this food post is kinda dated cos I only received the photos weeks after. My bestie and I are busy people haha. Anyway, I finally went to NTU to pay her a visit (and partially cos I wanted to check out her accomodation). We had dinner at Yaki Yaki Bo @ Jurong Point. I've had dinner there before and I couldn't stop raving about it after, especially the 'chawanmushi in the onion' dish.

Salad which came with the seafood set we ordered. And of course, I didn't touch this haha.

Not a fan of veggies, but the beansprouts were really good! Fragrant, crunchy and sweet.

Omelette rice. Need I say more?

I love seafood, can never have enough of it. The above dish consists of squid, scallops and prawns.

Two Saturdays ago, we went to Brewerkz @ Clark Quay to celebrate Wanxuan's birthday because she loves the pork ribs they serve.

I had the Seafood Marinara.

The Boyf had pork ribs too.

While Jere had a beef dish (can't remember the name now)

And we ordered a tower of Golden Ale heh.

On a side note, the boyf and I didn't celebrate our monthsary at a Japanese restaurant this month haha. We decided to have a simple one instead.

He made us brunch. It was supposed to be breakfast but I woke up late and the boyf was actually still fast asleep when I left home haha. So it became brunch instead.

Then while I was busy with my assignments, he surprised me with this:

Lol. If you were wondering, the sausages at the top have caviar on them, those at the sides are coated with honey while those at the bottom had cheese. You might say it's cheesy (pun intended) but I thought it was a pretty sweet gesture haha. ♥

Remember me mentioning in my first Nando's post that I finally know the reason why I get such a kick from eating spicy stuff (especially the Peri Peri sauce)? Well, let me tell you why. It's because:
Chillies are rumoured to release endorphins (a substance in the brain that causes one to feel pleasure)

Yep.

But did you know that chillies/Peri Peri have got a fantastic effect on the human body as well? Here are some interesting facts I have to share with you:

It contains virtually no fat or oil
Has a high level of vitamin C
Are effective anti-oxidants
An effective decongestant (great when you are having a cold)
Lowers cholesterol
Enhances metabolism (there I saved the best for the last!)

Nando's Chickenland Getaway Event: Chicky Goodness!

I am very much excited to be invited to the Nando's Chickenland Getaway Event @ Tampines Mall for bloggers because I am a huge fan of Nando's! One, it's chicken (my other favourite aside from seafood) and two, it can get pretty spicy because of their peri peri sauce! I love spicy food and now I actually know the reason why I get a kick from eating spicy stuff (shall explain this in the second Nando's post)

Upon arriving with the boyf (he was the guest I brought along), I was given the press kit.

And as soon as we were settled in our seats, the waitress came and served us the four designer drinks and explained to us the concoction in each drink.

And my favourite one after trying all of them?

The Madeira Red, which is pomegranate and lemonade. You've got to try this the next time you head to Nando's! If you can, try the second one from the left too. That's citrus bliss, consists of orange juice, sprite, lime and mint. It has a uniquely interesting taste, zesty too. But if you are not feeling very adventurous, you can have the one on the extreme right, it's apple, aloe vera and sprite I think.

And oh yes, did I mention that they serve plain water now?

Next up, it's the wild mushroom soup!

Mushroom soup can be easily found in almost any restaurant serving western cuisines/grills. Which is precisely the reason why I think the standard of the soup sorta determines how good the rest of their food is going to be. And the soup did not disappoint at all! Consistency was just nice, not too thick neither is it too thin. And you can really taste the wild mushrooms, so you know it's good stuff! Plus, you can actually taste the pepper! I am just absolutely satisfied with this soup because I love pepper. It adds that twang to your soup if you know what I mean.

The next dish, chicken liver.

I don't think I ever had chicken liver? But this was actually quite nice. It's somewhat similar to pig liver but the taste is a little different, and it's less 'powdery' in a way. Plus, the sauce it came with, perfect combination! They gave us both the mild and hot one to try and I prefer the mild one cos the hot one masks the taste of the liver.

This next dish is called Petisco, a dish meant for sharing with friends.

And this is one memorable dish for sure because it was really spicy! It's the 'extra hot' one and damn, it really is. You know some chillies, they will just fade off after awhile? This one, I had to drink countless sips or rather mouthfuls of my Madeira Red and just stuff anything that's non-spicy into my mouth hoping it will alleviate the burning sensation on my lips (you can see how red my lips were in a photo further down this post) and tongue. It was really quite the kick. But the chicken wings were good though.

Up next is Espetada!

It's something like our kebab.

If you are a fan of capsicums, this dish is for you. You can really taste the capsicums in the chicken, no kidding.

Then it's Cataplana!

Kinda similar to Espetada I think, the difference is that it's served like this.

And the next dish, which to me is the highlight of the day, the quarter chicken!

Because of the prior burning sensation I experienced just now, I thought extra hot would be too spicy for me and so I went for the lemon and herb one instead. And wow it was good! Right now, I am totally craving for one. The sauce is marinated into the chicken and I have got no idea how I am going to describe the taste to you other than going with the cliche, "it tastes like heaven in my mouth". And the super tender chicken just makes it all the more better! The meat is so sweet, succulent and juicy and combined with the sauce marinated into it...it's just pretty amazing for my taste buds.

Jerome, who sat beside me had the extra hot and he told me that it wasn't as spicy as the Petisco dish. So I decided to try it and I am glad I did. It really isn't as spicy as Petisco, probably because it's not doused in sauce? And how should I put it, it tantalises and teases with the taste buds? It's like it leaves you wanting more. Oh and the crispy skin of the chicken! The next time I go the Nando's, I will most definitely order one 'lemon and herb' and one 'extra hot'.

Last but not least, dessert.

I had the most fabulous time at the event, surrounded by superb food and jolly people. I am also giving the service a thumbs up too! And I really do like the interior of the restaurant.

It's cosy yet classy at the same time.

December's my favourite time of the year

Christmas is coming! And it's one of my favourite holidays of the year. It's just a pity we don't have snow nor chilly temperatures but I guess the christmasy lights in town would suffice?

Anyhow, I am back shooting every weekend for Bellezabebe. The following photos were shot last Saturday and Sunday. Denise has got lots of designs lined up for Christmas and Chinese New Year which is really early next year (23 Jan). So here are some behind-the-scenes and at the same time, a preview of what's coming up!

On Saturday, we had "dinner" (at 4.30 pm) at Ramen Champion before the shoot.

This was mine, from Tetsu. The broth's really thick and the soup's good.

And on Sunday, we had early dinner again. This time at The Soup Spoon.

We shared the clam chowder (above) and the mushroom soup (below).

The shoot ended early so we had time for a second round of dinner at Itacho! Most of you would know that I love Itacho's green tea, can't stop raving about it.

After a 3 hour shoot, green tea is a great perk-me-up drink.

That day's swordfish sashimi was surprisingly good! The slices were thicker than usual and it was uber fresh too. Totally made my night.

Anyway, I just went for a haircut at Salon Vim. Decided to cut away my curls since I have been having that style for about 2 years already, plus the ends are kinda dry already. And here's my new look!

Curls are temporary only by the way. Length now is at the shoulders. I think I look fresher with the shorter cut. I did the L' Oreal Absolut Repair Cellular Hair Treatment Mask too and my hair feels super soft and healthy now. Hoping it stays in this state for as long as possible haha. Oh and I must say, the head massage was absolutely amazing! It felt really really good. All the tension I had in my head disappeared after the massage. Geez.

On a side note, I will be attending Nando's Chickenland Getaway event on Saturday at Tampines Mall. Looking forward! So yep, you know another food review is coming up haha.

Weekends before school started:

ARNOLDS!

We went cycling! And after that it was just gorging ourselves with food. Good food.

And weekends after school started? Burnt in school haha. But now, I can breathe a little more. Two weeks before was crazily hectic. I am glad we managed to complete everything on time and all. Once, I stayed in school till 11 pm to complete an assignment. Really thankful to Keith, Deanna, Jonathan for their help and especially Ting Ke who stayed with me till I am done when she could have gone off already.

We also had two presentations in one day which explained us burning our Saturdays and Sundays in school. A full business proposal for both had to be done as well.

But the grade we got was pretty good I think! Although it could be better. At least it was worth our weekends haha.

It warms the inside just like it should

We kinda always spend our monthsary eating Jap food. Nearly wanted to have ramen again but changed course last minute hahaha. And that was a really good call.

We went to Fukuichi Japanese Restaurant at Triple One and settled for this seafood set meal thing for 2. I can't really remember the exact name now. But anyhow, here's what the set has:

Don't belittle this dish. Looks like nothing fantastic but it's absolutely delightful. There's no other way for me to describe it other than, "heaven in my mouth". Both of us were not expecting much from this but the moment we took a mouth, we were like WOW THIS IS GOOD! But if you do not like century egg, I don't think you will like this dish.

What's a Japanese dinner without sashimi? This was pretty decent but not amazingly fresh.

The main course which was seafood in soup. I was about to call it a hot pot but it isn't exactly a hot pot. Came in this (above). The paper thing is holding all the soup and seafood in. I have no idea what kinda paper that is haha. I tried tearing it and it's tearable lol. But I like the fact that the soup is boiled over charcoal. I think any soup boiled over charcoal is just more fragrant in a way? My grandmother still boils her soup over charcoal and it tastes heavenly. Best soup ever.

This should be king prawns. Uber fresh.

And this was the best mochi I ever had so far. Nuff' said.

I am super super super satisfied with this meal haha. Food was awesome. Definitely left an impression on me. And customer service was pretty good too so thumbs up! :)

Top's from CWC. It's in a very lovely shade of rose and I love the high neckline design. Makes it look elegant. The skirt is from MGG, got it in size S which is the smallest size but it's kinda loose for me actually. Instead of falling on the waist, it falls nearer to the hips instead. I was trying to 'kiap' it to my waist in the photo, but didn't really work lol. But I like the colour and the design of the skirt so I am keeping it haha. Colour is not true to my photo btw.

Our Post-Internship Trip: Duck Tours and Sentosa Cineblast & Desperados

Raquel started planning our post-internship trip when we were only halfway through internship haha. She was scouring through Groupon and found this deal which was actually quite worth the price, thinking of it now.

Anyway, shall do the usual and let the pictures do the talking. Heh.

Got it! And since we had to wait about 30 mins for the boarding time..

It's been awhile since we last took photos together anyway haha.

And finally on the Duck, after a pretty long introduction video

And then we took the Sentosa Rider into Sentosa, it was included in the Groupon deal. So our transport for the entire day was already paid for and settled. Very convenient too.

Then took the blue line in Sentosa to the place where the Cineblast and Desperados rides are at.

After that, it's

It was funny how before we went in, I told them I would probably be the lousiest shooter cos when I play games like Counter Strike, I will be a camper lol. If not, my game will be over very quickly. But then guess what, I was the top shooter in Round One hahahaha. Amused much. Then I dropped to fifth for Round Two cos my arms were out of strength already.

And we bought the photo!

We found this air-conditioned room with chairs and all which was showing a video about the different species of birds. Felt very much like a classroom.

Then we headed to RWS to find food for our growling stomachs.

Raquel, Mon and Nic ate at ToastBox while me, Tingky and Eileen headed to Ramen Play instead. And I am glad we did. Food's good and alot more worth it.

And we took the Sentosa Rider back to the city again! Both times, the bus was completely empty! It was like we booked it for ourselves the whole day.

It was a good post-internship trip. Spent with good company and lots of catching up. And now it's back to school already! Yes this post is wayyyyy overdue. Sorry!

Okay I have a lot of posts that are kinda due but I shall do one at a time. So as promised, the first food post.

Bought this groupon coupon for sashimi at Sun Dining Restaurant @ Chjimes for the boyf's birthday dinner and that was really a good buy.

This was the sashimi set. Fyi, it's already a quarter eaten lol, I forgot to snap a shot first haha.

It was oh-so-good! Really really fresh, can fight with Chikuwa-Tei hahaha. And you see that white/beige one in the middle? I got no idea what fish that was but it was sublime, delightfully sublime! Honestly, you don't need light sauce or anything else, cos you will just spoil the natural sweetness of it. That just took over swordfish as my favourite sashimi choice. Oh man, anyone knows what fish that might be?

The shabu shabu looks really good but they only offered beef, which I don't take. So I settled for some hot pot dish and udon instead, I can't remember its exact name now.

And the boyf got the beef shabu shabu set, which he couldn't stop raving about after. Since I couldn't try it, I shall just let the pictures do the talking.

That soup I did try. And it was quite good! The lime just gave it that extra zesty flavour which was refreshing.

Salad. Ain't a fan of veggies.

The main highlight of the meal. I don't eat beef so I dont know if you can tell whether the beef is good from the texture/pattern. But to me, it looks like it's good stuff from the marbly swirly design haha.

Dessert was green tea ice cream which was quite a disappointment. You can't taste the green tea at all, all you could taste was milk.

But overall, it was quite a good meal. The sashimi alone would suffice.

Since the boyf and Jere's birthday are on the same day, we the girlfriends decided to bring them to a nice buffet place. They had completely no idea where we were going haha. Wan Xuan and I took about a week to decide and in the end, we settled on Plaza Brasserie @ Park Royal Beach Road, a little pricey than our other options but I know the food's good cos I've been there once, thanks to Faith.

And actually, this time, the food's kinda better haha.

I was surprised at how good the chilli crab was! I mean, usually the chilli crabs at buffet aren't exactly fantastic.

It was a great meal and thanks to the Safra Card, we had a 20% discount off the whole bill. But still, it was $46 per pax? I would definitely go back again, but I don't think my wallet is very much willing lol.

Spontaneity

My favourite shot of us at the moment. ♥

The boyf said he wanted to learn photography so we decided to go to Marina Barrage three Sundays ago, but the shuttle bus took ages to come and it started raining. And so we scraped that and headed to Marina Bay Sands instead. Well, I am more than happy to delve into the comforting 'arms' of an air-conditioned place when it's crazily humid outside.

He is a pretty fast learner I must say. He already has a preference for the settings. Eg: he likes using manual focus while I prefer auto focus.

After walking around in that insanely huge mall (i just realised it was THAT huge), we headed for dinner at Keisuke Tokyo Ramen at Millenia Walk. It's one of my favourite ramen places.

This will definitely be served, it's like a 小菜. I actually really like it, plus I am not really a veggie fan as most of you would know. I won't stop eating that until my ramen's here haha.

The above is mine. Pork Broth Ramen, I would usually pick that no matter which ramen place I go.

Then, we headed to Genesis 21 cos the boyf's teaching their artistes guitar. And dear Faith is one of them!

Also met-up with the girls from my secondary school (with the exception of butt and jiayu), amidst everyone's busy schedules. And we had Thai food for dinner.

That was the only shot I took, and after that I was busy eating already. Green curry was sold out, sadly.

As we were taking photos, this refuse vehicle (those meant for travelling within the malls) went past us and it stunk really bad.

With Mon, who has been my classmate for about 4 years and counting now. I think we are lucky in a way cos we not only went to the same course in TP but also got placed in the same class every year. May we be in the same class for our very last semester too, since we picked the same elective.

October's here! And that means internship is FINALLY OVER! :D
I have 3 weeks to catch up on all the sleep that I lost (i know it doesn't really work that way la) and to finish the report about my internship. 3 more weeks and it's back to school! And honestly, I can't wait to be back.

August's my birthday month and so along that comes with that month is good food. Yeah~

1) Fisherman's Market @ Clark Quay

There's a lot of hype over this restaurant. And here's what I feel:

Lots of variety, wide spread of different cuisines. There's seafood, teppanyaki, international cuisine, local cuisine, japanese cuisine, appetizer/cold food section, desserts & fruits.
Very classy decor
Customer service is a thumbs up

The main attraction should of course be the seafood (it's called fisherman's market what haha), but I wasn't very impressed with the seafood at all (maybe my expectations were a little high cos of all the hype). They have everything; oysters, squid, prawns, mussels. But I felt that taste-wise, it wasn't so spectacular and therefore paying almost $50 for the buffet was a sort of overpriced. The oysters were a disappointment for me cos I was kinda planning of sweeping like 10 to 15 hahaha.

But the teppanyaki section is really really good! Especially the chicken, that is a must try if you go. I think it's the best teppanyaki chicken I've had so far.

The international and local cuisine is pretty okay. The sashimi from the Japanese cuisine was quite fresh. The appetizers/cold food section is not bad.

Pardon the lousy photos! I didn't take much either, subsequent dishes that I took after these I didn't take cos I was kinda busy eating and I didn't want to use my phone after peeling the shells of the prawns.

For the desserts & fruits section, other than the usual cakes and fruits, there's a chocolate fondue fountain so chocolate lovers (applies to most people actually, except me), you would like it.

Customer-service was a thumbs up because the staff were really friendly, helpful and very polite. One of them accidentally cleared a plate of oysters that we were not done with and so she apologized. After awhile when she came back to clear our plates, she apologized again. Small gesture yes, but it's not common nowadays to see any service staff who seems genuinely apologetic when they apologize. Most just apologize for the sake of apologizing or because they have to because they don't want to receive any complaints.

2) Chikuwa-Tei (Finally went back again!)
I have nothing but raves for this japanese restaurant la haha. This time, I took proper photos showing how thick their sashimi slices are.

I ordered the salmon set. It was pretty good!

And wanxuan ordered the sashimi set. $25 but I think it's super super super worth it. You get all the different types of sashimi I think. There's swordfish!! And that's good enough for me already haha. Think I am gonna have this the next time I am there.

Spent my birthday with the boyf, he whipped up a simple Italian pasta dish. I think it's really good to have a boyf who knows how to cook heh. Then, my family surprised me with a birthday cake when I reached home.

If my dad was the one who did the buying I think all 4 would be chocolate haha. Mum did the buying and so there's a non-chocolate one. Stephen also bought a similar cake for me lol.

And then my youngest brother did this:

You know that gel thing you squeeze out onto a straw and when you blow air into it become this 'balloon'? I can't remember what exactly it's called. Yeah he used that and made this. His whole room just smelt like that gel thing after that.

Met up with Ting Ke and Jonathan for IKEA dinner yesterday.

Hahahaha she was wowed by how huge the 'leaf' was.

Okay this kinda looks silly. Lol.

I am kinda into skirts recently. I remember I had a tee-shirt phase, then a denim phase, and then a crazy-over-bags phase followed by rings. Now, I think it's the skirts phase lol.

Lion King The Musical, finally!

So, I finally caught Lion King The Musical! And it was superbly awesome! I would love to be able to watch it again. (if someone would kindly sponsor my ticket hahaha)

We were actually late (by a few minutes) so we couldn't go in until the first song has ended. But not much loss either (except missing the opening of 'Circle Of Life', damn!) cos there's still half of the cast outside with us. They are supposed to enter and walk through the area where the audience were seated at and then up the stage. So we heard them sing live right in front of us. Pretty cool.

The vocal performances were absolutely sublime! The stage design, props, costumes, the live orchestra and everything else was a visual and auditory treat for the eyes and ears. It is really amazing how they recreated everything from the animated version, especially the 'stampede' scene, that was very well-done. I liked the fact that they added in a few humour lines in relation to the context of Singapore. It wasn't too much either, so the original essence of the musical is still retained.

I am so glad they extended their run. They have been here for 6 months and it's still a full house! Best musical I've ever watched so far, definitely worth every single cent I paid.

Okay, so I realized it's been almost 2 months since my last post. I apologize for this hiatus. (sorry!) But then again, nothing much has been going on for the past 2 months (no food trips, etc) cos I am on internship now. Everyday is basically a routine. I wake up at the same time, do my morning routine, leave the house, travel to work, sit at my desk till lunchtime, go for lunch, come back and sit at my desk till it's time to knock-off.

After about 4 months into this internship, I am really sure that a desk-bound job for me is not a very good idea. This, I've once mentioned to my parents before, and now 4 months into this internship, it's a confirmed fact, I say! Or at the very least a desk bound job that allows me to head out time-to-time to conduct interviews or research, say for a lifestyle, fashion or food magazine, that I wouldn't mind. However, I think I prefer reporting, as I realised during the stint with YOG. Good times, good friends made and speaking of which, it's almost a year!

Back to the desk-bound job point, I kinda think the 3 kg I put on might be due to the fact that I am practically seated down the whole day, especially after lunch. Not very ideal? Cos I hardly move at all, in school I climb stairs pretty often to get to classes cos the elevators take forever and are usually already full. Or maybe, that 3 kg was from the food trip I had. Metabolism slowing down! (maybe attributed to me being seated all the time, it comes full circle haha)

Speaking of food, I kinda had food poisoning or something 2 weeks ago. Ate something wrong and so spent the next day throwing up everything I ate or drank. That is something I never want to go through again. My appetite took a week to come back and my food intake, 2 weeks. So, we had to call off our plans to visit Chikuwa-Tei. But I think we should be going on another food trip very soon, to some food places in katong that I want them to try! :)

On a side note, I think I am really lucky to be working where I am working now for my internship. Good colleagues and a very nice supervisor. I know fellow classmates who absolutely dread having to endure another 2 months of internship because of either nasty colleagues or horrible supervisors (mostly the latter). Seriously, the people in your workplace can make a huge difference to how much you enjoy going to work. And for that, I am really thankful. Because if not, I think the crazy morning crowd on the buses and trains with some inconsiderate Singaporeans will drive me up the wall if I still have to deal with nasty colleagues or a horrible supervisor.

Anyway, I was browsing through UrbanOutfitters and I saw this.

I've been looking for a luggage like this for a very long time. Can't seem to find it in Singapore. And there's no Urban Outfitters in Singapore either. I honestly wish we had cos they have some very pretty designs for their furniture/apartment furnishes. Damn. I can't ship those items here, just like this luggage. :( I think shipping will cost quite abit and bulky items are always a hassle. So, if anybody knows where I can find luggages like this in Singapore, do drop me a email or something okay?

Okay now I should be off to finish the 4 weeks worth of reflection journals for the internship logbook before the on-campus session tomorrow. There goes my sleep tomorrow morning.

So... I finally went to Marina Barrage. Well, better late than never right?

Anyway, it was like a field trip with my family and I think it's been awhile since my entire family spent the whole day together doing something. I remember when I was younger, we used to go to town almost every weekend. Good times. And last Sunday which was Father's Day, we went to play badminton. Fun and well-spent I would say. And it's been a very long time since I last had such a "workout", feels like PE hahaha.

The itinerary for the day was the Newater Plant first, then the Singapore Flyer and then the barrage.

To be honest, there wasn't anything that caught my interest at the Newater Plant. Just lots of exhibitions and all, it feels like a secondary school NE field trip. But, here's a picture of me and my grandma we took at the reception area.

And as you can see from the reflection on her spectacles, it's a real sunny day out there haha.

Then, after that we took the tour bus down to the Singapore Flyer. And that was the main highlight of the trip for me (and for most I think). Have never been on the flyer and the weather was somewhat good (a cool, rainy cloudy day wouldn't be good since we are taking the flyer).

Food makes the world go round.

As the title of this post suggests, yes this post is all about food. But before I start, I would like to give a shout-out to Charlotte Tay.

Thanks so much for nominating my blog! It was a pleasant surprise. :)

But I won't be taking part this year though. Nevertheless, thank you! I really appreciate it.

I've realised that my 24/7 food cravings are for the Japanese and Italian cuisines. Every time I go for a food trip or have a meet-up with my friends, there's definitely either of those cuisines or both, involved in our meals.

So, last month, I finally met-up with some of my YOG mates. The last time I met them was around September last year when we went to USS with the complimentary passes. Our original plan was Astons, but the queue was really long. So we had a change of plans and headed to Itacho instead!

I've been to Itacho a few times already but the sashimi and the green tea keeps me coming back. There's just something about their green tea, it's really fragrant. Really really good! The sashimi's fresh, they have swordfish and it isn't too expensive but recently, I found an even better sashimi place! (see all the way below) So, that's my new found love to go to for sashimi.

Anyway, these were what I ordered:

Chawanmushi with salmon roe. I always have this whenever I go to Itacho.

Tuna sashimi mini rice set. Tried this for the first time. And it's not bad.

Ahhhh sashimi! Enough said.

And here's the green tea I was talking about. It's free flow. And the rest of them all agreed with me that it was good too. Itacho should sell their green tea in boxes/packs so that I can buy home. Would love to have it every morning.

Then to celebrate mother's day. My family went to "Seletar Hill Restaurant" for dinner.

And the food (most) was really good!

Here's what we ordered (I can't remember the exact names of the dishes):

Sea cucumber with mushrooms. I love sea cucumbers, this was not bad.

Some veggie dish with mushrooms. This was okay only though.

Fish. Not sure it I mentioned it before, but I am not really a 'fish-person', with the exception of sashimi. But this was not bad, the sauce was good and the fish was very fresh. The meat was sweet and texture was good.

I think it's long beans? This was superb! The moment the waitress placed this dish on the table, the fragrance hit me. Very 香! And the taste matched the aroma. I actually wanted more of this veggie dish, not something that happens very often. Nice, very nice.

Duck. Wasn't exactly spectacular. The meat was kinda dry I thought.

Fried beancurd. Not too bad, but I've had better ones.

Ahhhhh, Dong Po Rou! My absolute favourite dish of all time. Like I always say, "It's so fat, it's so good!" Some parts were less fatty though, but of course I relished the real fatty ones haha. Guilty pleasure.

The price of the dishes were not very expensive, around $3 to $10 more than the usual price of tzi char, depending on what kind of dish you order. But the best thing is, there's no GST/service charge! :D So I definitely will not mind coming back again. And I will definitely order that long bean dish. It's really good!

On Labour Day, I went on a food trip with some fellow foodies, Stephen, Wan Xuan and Jeremiah. It was a very productive day in that context cos we ate non-stop. I think the only times we weren't eating anything were when we were travelling.

Our first stop was Pek Kio Food Centre for prawn noodles, recommended by Stephen.

This was $15 bucks lol. Cos the $8 one's sold out, and so is the $10 one. But the prawns were huge! Like really HUGE. If you think it looks huge from this picture, it's even bigger if you take it up from the soup. It's not just huge, it's fat! Like thick. Never seen such huge prawns before, it's like crayfish. And the prawns were fresh! The soup was quite good too! But I thought the soup from the prawn noodles stall I had at Commonwealth was better (not by a huge margin though). But I don't think any prawn noodle stall can beat the size of the prawns from this stall man.

After that, the plan was actually to catch a movie. But all the movie timings couldn't match our schedule so we scraped that and decided to have cakes instead. So we went to Secret Recipe. After that, we made a spontaneous decision to go to a food fair at Suntec. And yes, we bought food to eat. Tapioca balls and korean bbq sotong. Didn't take photos though.

Then, we headed to our fourth stop for dinner! Ramen!

I thought the soup was a little too salty for my liking so I preferred the one at Millennia Walk. The soup from that restaurant was fantastic.

Then, Jeremiah and Wan Xuan started raving about this Japanese restaurant nearby and so another spontaneous decision to go in. And I am so very glad we did. Chikuwa-Tei's my new found love man!

The sashimi's not only fresher than Itacho's, but it's super thick. Super super thick. And it's cheaper too! I am definitely going back!

And we ended the day with RockBand at Wan Xuan's house. Good fun. Timbre soon guys?

Dear all, sorry for the hiatus! Been kinda busy this past few weeks. Because my internship has started, among many other things. So here’s an updates post!

First, in case you were wondering, my internship’s pretty good! You know, the perks of being a journalist? Haha. I can’t say more because my course doesn’t allow us to say anything about our internship on our social media sites so yep.

Second, as you can see, I’ve changed the design of my blog and cleared some of the clutter on it. This is so much better and I am absolutely loving it. Got rid of the tagboard cos now there’s formspring! Though I am kinda lazy to answer all the questions I have right now. Shall answer all the questions when I am abit more free yeah? Also got rid of the musicbox cos I don’t think I have the time to update it constantly.

Third, I got my tuition class back! I had to give it up cos the management I was with previously arranged something which clashed with the timing of the class. I wasn’t given much of a choice to negotiate so I had to give it up. But thankfully, the centre kept the class for me by hiring a relief teacher for those 3 months I wasn’t able to teach. And man, I am so glad to be back! It was great seeing those old faces (pun intended, they are only 10) and some new faces. I definitely missed them.

Fourth, I finally visited Mutts & Mittens again, after I think 2 to 3 years? Geez, that’s a really long time. The place still looks about the same though.

Before my internship started, my holiday was well-spent. Very well-spent actually. It consisted of mostly jamming, picking up the guitar and piano once again, meeting up with some old friends and swimming! Now I have a tan-line, a pretty obvious one too. All of which led to something much more special. :) And for that, I am really thankful. Oh yes and food. Been eating quite a lot recently. I went on a food trip with Stephen, Wan Xuan and Jeremiah on Labour Day and we seriously ate non-stop the entire day. And I continued overeating quite abit the entire week and I gained 3 kg lol. But now, I am in the acceptable weight category so I think putting on that 3 kg is a good thing?

A few people asked me and wanted to know why I left my previous management. Well simply put, I think it’s really important to be doing things that make you happy and that you really enjoy from the bottom of the heart. Once you start getting negative vibes from it, you know something is wrong. I don’t see the point of continuing doing something which makes me a more passive person than I actually am.

Some revelations I made, or rather some life lessons I learned recently is that “Change is constant and constant is change.” So I guess some people change. Someone who used to be your genuine friend can suddenly turn around cos of external factors and perhaps bite you in the back. This experience also further reinforced my belief that you can never believe a story you hear from one side. There are always both sides to a story. Like there are 2 sides to a coin and 6 sides to a dice. A rumour is called a rumour for a reason because it is not entirely the truth, since it’s still a rumour. As the saying goes, “rumour has it”. It’s like sentencing an accused murderer to a death sentence without giving him a trial or a chance for investigate to check what really happened.

Life is good, just having a casual jamming session with an acoustic instrument and singing songs I want to sing, and of course spending time with that special someone. Now the smile on my face truly comes from deep within. And that is how it should be.

SourceCode Movie Review

The Plot

Captain Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) is a military army helicopter pilot who finds himself in a mission to locate the author of a bomb which exploded and destroyed a train headed into Chicago. Stevens is isolated inside a chamber, where Air Force officer Capt. Colleen Goodwin (Vera Farmiga) explains to Stevens through a computer screen that he is inside the Source Code, a program that allows him to take over someone's body in his or her last eight minutes of life.

Stevens' mission is to locate the bomb, discover who built it, and report back to Goodwin before the bomber can detonate a second larger bomb, a dirty nuclear device, in downtown Chicago, which could cause the deaths of millions of people. Stevens can perform different actions each time and learn from those actions. Goodwin and the Source Code's creator, Dr. Rutledge (Jeffrey Wright), tell him that the Source Code is not a simulation, but a visit into the past in the form of an alternative reality. He's told that he cannot truly alter the past in the same reality to save any of the passengers, but that he must gather intel that can be used to alter the future and prevent a future attack.

Every time he is sent into the same train he awakens as Sean Fentress, a teacher, sitting across a woman named Christina Warren (Michelle Monaghan). A series of events repeat each time with slight variations while he goes on searching for the terrorist and deepening his relationship with Christina, until the bomb that destroys the train goes off and Stevens (as Fentress) dies, sending him back to the chamber.

Stevens has no memory of how he arrived to the mission; his last memory is of flying in a recent mission in Afghanistan while taking on enemy gunfire. Confused and frustrated, Stevens wonders how he got assigned to this project…

My Review

I wouldn’t reveal more about the plot, if not I might spoil the movie for you.

Sourcecode puts together conspiracies, altered minds and modified realities. Mind-boggling at first until the film explains what Sourcecode is. It kinda reminds me of “Inception”, though I will not say one is better than the other. Both are good in their own ways. I liked the way the film is being presented, whereby the order of the series of events are put into a continual loop. You don’t see these often in movies. Most of the time, it’s either a flashback or a normal narrative style.

There’s a blend of action, suspense, humour and abit of romance. Character development was just nice, especially towards the end of the movie where you see more emotional scenes. One surprise was the appearance of Russell Peters, a Canadian comedian who guest stars in this film as an amateur comedian who’s a contestant on America’s Got Talent, with a bad attitude.The cast was well-chosen as each of them managed to bring out the characteristics of their character and was able to portray the emotions well.

Cinematography wise, camera work was nicely done, especially the framing of shots. There’s also the use of colour tone to bring out the mood and feel.

I love the special effects in this movie, especially the explosion scenes. Very artistically done I think.

Overall, I loved this movie. I thought the screenplay was really well-written, with twists and turns, storyline flowed very well. It’s stylistically and aesthetically pleasing. Definitely a must-watch!

联合晚报 & OMY.sg Presents - Gourmet Food Trail with Ah Lun

Would like to thank OMY.sg for inviting me to join the first session of this food trail. It was an extremely fulfilling and gratifying Saturday, filled with good food!

The first restaurant we went to was Crystal Jade Korean BBQ at NEX. I never knew Crystal Jade had Korean BBQ until yesterday. And you know what was the best thing? It's a buffet! A pretty wide variety they had as well.

This are some of the food items that were already on the table I was seated at.

And now let's take a look at the spread they have.

Check out the variety they have! I didn't take the desserts, appetizers area by the way. So it's quite a huge spread.

And here we go!

The best thing is, it's not just BBQ they have, there's also steamboat.

At the same time, there was a chef demonstrating how to make Kimchi. I love kimchi but I never knew pears and apples were used in the process of making the kimchi.

Then Ah Lun came by to our table and cooked beef tongue, the right way lol. The texture and everything was perfect. It was one of the main highlight dish.

The surprise dish. The fish was really fresh so it was sweet and together with the sauce. Nice!

Pretty interesting dessert, never seen it before. Jelly with some herbs inside I think, like wolfberries.

And then after finishing our meal there, it was onto the next stop! It took only less than 15 mins to reach there lol, which means our stomachs only had 15 mins to rest.

It was a 7 course meal! After everyone was settled down and all, here comes the first dish!

Can you tell what's in this dish? I sent a fellow foodie a photo of this and he could immediately recognise jellyfish haha. At least he did the term 'foodie' justice. Other than jellyfish, there's clams and fried golden mushrooms as well. Great start to the rest of the 6 dishes.

Second, was soup in a pumpkin. At first the soup was clear but slowly, it started to turn yellowish cos of the pumpkin and the pumpkin taste got stronger which was really good! At first you could just taste the sweetness of seafood (there was abalone, shark fins, sea cucumber), then slowly you could taste the sweetness of the pumpkin as well. Nice combination!

The third dish, the name was 'xian xian' I think. Like salty fish but with a fragrance to it. Definitely got to eat with rice or porridge.

The next dish was a first.

It's not chicken feet, it's goose feet. And it was not bad, I prefer it more than chicken feet lol.
Then it's time for the desserts!

Isn't this dish adorable? Too cute to be eaten la haha. But it kinda looks weird when the head of the penguin gets chewed off lol.

The day was not all food but entertainment as well!
One of the games they had was this 穿衣脱衣 game, where contestants are given 2 mins to wear as much as possible but before the time is up they must remove all the shirts they just put on. Which means they got to to gauge their time well!

And there was also a song performance!

And then there was a lucky draw. Think lady luck was shining on me yesterday haha cos I won one of the $100 meal voucher by the restaurant. So yay I am definitely going back, this time for the dim sum.

And the event ended successfully!

I am a foodie so this gourmet food trail invitation was really lovely! I eat quite alot but still, I was worried my stomach would be filled up before the end of the session haha. We started with an all-you-can-eat buffet so I was trying to make sure I leave enough space in my stomach for the 7 course meal later. And I think I did a pretty good gauge haha cos I was feeling comfortably full after the end of the session.

I have officially left Royal International Group. This wasn’t an easy decision to make though cos being a part of this family has been one of the best experiences in my 18 years of life so far.

I’ve had a lot of fun spending time/working with all those people I’ve met through RIG. They are also the very people and the biggest reason that attributed to why I enjoyed my time in RIG so much.

There’s:

Joseph – The most selfless person I’ve ever seen

Jessica – 伟大的母爱 (this sums it all up)

Peter – Like a big brother that takes care of everyone

Joanne – Like the big sister that takes care of everyone

(P.S: Which is why both of them are a couple haha)

Celin – 傻大姐 lor! Haha.

And there are also the newer artistes/that I didn’t get to spend much time with (compared to those above la haha) :

Micka – I will forever remember his rendition of 我是一只小小鸟 and all the cold jokes he made.

Yumi – 加油加油 okay! 记得不要”减错”的地方哦. Haha.

Kai Xun – Loved his rendition of Elson’s 说一次你爱我. You work hard for your O’ Level exams and get straight As yeah? You can do it one, 加油!

Nicholas – The newest member to join us so not much time spent bonding but his success story is really inspiring. All the best!

Grandmother's Birthday Celebration @ St. Regis

We celebrated her birthday at a Chinese restaurant and the food was good, most of it. Shall let the pictures do the talking. :)

This is like a East meets West design.

The table's huge man like really huge! Perfect for reunion dinners. But still, it was a little squeezy cos we had like 18 people.

My brother was complaining about the weight of the utensils lol. They did weigh abit more than our usual utensils.

I am not a fan of almonds but this was exceptionally good!

And after the rest arrived, it's time for food to be served!

First dish was the conventional birthday buns.

The second was the appetizer trio which consisted of crispy roasted pork, roasted duck and jelly fish, which was really good! The crispy skin of the roasted pork was the best part la haha, the duck was just nice and the jelly fish! One of the best I've had so far.

The third dish was Braised Fish Maw Broth with Conpoy. I think restaurants should serve this instead of sharks fins soup. Firstly, this tastes as good or in most instances, better! (you know what I mean) Plus, the way shark fins are obtained is really cruel. So this is better.

Fourth was Steamed Sea Perch Fillet with Chef's Special Coral Sauce.

Not very much of a fish person, with the exception of salmon and codfish. So I thought this dish was pretty okay. The fish's quite fresh and that is what matters to me most when it comes to a fish dish.

But the fifth dish was delish! It's Pan-Fried Korubuta Pork Chop with Black Pepper Sauce. The pork chop is Japan's famous black pig so the meat was really succulent. And I love pepper, so black pepper sauce was a perfect combination.

After this dish was Stir-fried Amoy Mee Sua Vermicelli, I didn't take a photo cos this dish was a tad disappointing. It tasted like what you can get from a "zi char" stall and some even served better ones. Then following this dish was Almond Tea which I gave to my cousin because the smell of any almond dessert puts me off. ><

But overall, the food served was pretty good, so was the ambience and service from the staff as well.

I think this is my first blog post wholly on food lol. Despite me being a foodie.

Good things deserved to be shared don't you agree?

So, other than sharing with you ladies about this new line of products, other exciting news and awesome goodies to share, I shared the products with my dear mummy as well! She has always been taking care of her skin and all, so she was excited as well when I brought home the products after the workshop that day. And of course, she tried them out as well. Haha.

And like me, she loves the scent of the products. She doesn't have oily skin, only at the T-Zone, so she only used the moisturizer at night since she feels it's more rich for her skin (cos I have the creme one which is more for dry/normal skin) so it's good because she feels that sleeping in an air-conditioned room will make your skin dryer. She doesn't have an issue with sunblocks, unlike me haha. Protection from UV rays is very important to her so she makes sure she has sunblock on before leaving the house. And she's very pleased with the SPF level of this sunblock.

She is a user of some other Estee Lauder products and for this CyberWhite range, it's a *thumbs up* from her! Because spots are the main imperfections she hopes to get rid of on her face.

February's over, it's March already! And we are already into the third month of the new year.

My February was filled with exams, rushing of deadlines, events, performances, appearances and birthdays! Almost all the february babies I know are people dearest to me.

Monica's birthday on the 18th of February. Our TP classmates had a little celebration for her at Bistro in school.

Looking forward to celebrating her birthday again (belated) with the girls from secondary school. Our birthday tradition will be having a little change this year!

Then, both my parents are also February babies. Mummy first on Valentine's Day then my Dad.

We went to our clubhouse (Raffles Town Club) for a Japanese dinner at Miyabi Restaurant.

Alright, on to March! I made an appearance at the Sakura Food Fair @ Bukit Timah Plaza on the 5 and 6 March, and also gave a performance. The fair lasted for three days, starting on 4th of March and ending on 6th of March. Would like to thank Kee Song Group for having me, Team Salon for styling my hair, and also of course EME for being there on both days for their support and bringing the boards. You guys were great on the last day of the fair, sold out Sakura and Imperial Chicken! Woo~

Estee Lauder Blog Post 2: Reviews!

And I'm back with my second post! :)

So, I have been using the products since the day I got it. Now, it's time for my review of the products!

I always had the misconception (i'm sure many of you do too), that whitening means making your skin tone a few shades lighter. That is not entirely accurate. Whitening means brightening, by getting rid of dullness in your skin and those dark spots. With all those problems gone, you can have that luminous skin you always wanted that glows and of course also look fairer. Isn't that what all women wish for their skin?

And Estee Lauder products are perfect at helping you achieve that because they have over 25 years of brightening expertise! What's even better is that, this new range of CyberWhite Brilliant Cells is developed for Asian skin! Most of us know that Asian skin and Caucasian skin are a little different, which is why Estee Lauder conducted a study to understand the physiology of Asian skin better.

Here's what they found out:

Other than the three most common dark spots, Barely Visible Spots, Small Surface Spots and Stubborn Age Spots, they discovered a fourth one found in Asian skin, and that is the persistent Recurring Spot.
But dark spots aren't the only attributing factor to uneven skin tone in Asian skin.
There are 4 key factors that results in dullness and discolouration of the skin which takes away our natural luminosity that we have. And they are, Dehydration, Uneven Skin Texture, Disorganized Collagen and Poor Microcirculation.

Don't all those above problems sound familiar? Which is why Estee Lauder have for us this spanking new range which targets each of the above problems and developed it meant for Asian skin.

Okay now it's time for my review.

1. The Brightening Moisture Lotion

This is used after cleansing of the face. This is an essential step to prepare the skin to receive the full benefits of the entire product range. It's something like a toner. And just like the name suggests, it hydrates the skin and also softens, soothes and conditions it. My skin feels instantly refreshed after this step.

2. The Brightening Essence

This is THE ONE that TARGETS all those spots and all those problems. It also illuminates your skin by brightening all those dark spots, all of which helps the skin to regain and maintain our natural clarity and radiance. It comes in this silky, opalescent serum form as you can see from the picture above. And it does not feel heavy at all, in fact my skin feels very comfortable.

3. The Moisture Creme/Milky Lotion

This is something like our moisturizers. The reason why there are two types in the title is because the first is for dry to normal skin since it's more lightweight while the latter is for combination/oily skin which is more luscious and skin nourishing. I was given the moisture creme which is why there's only one type in the above pictures. In case you were wondering, I have combination skin. But, the moisture creme works fine on me. It does not feel very heavy as some moisturizers will. My skin cells feel contented. You know the feeling you get when you are extremely warm and thirsty, then someone hands you a bottle of iced water? That is exactly how my skin feels after putting on this moisturizer. It makes my skin more supple as well. It's also meant to help strengthen the skin's moisture barrier.

4. The Brightening UV Protector

Oh sunblock (as it's also known). I've always had issues with it. My aunt's attempts (I lost count how many) at trying to get me to use sunblock since I was the age of 16 failed every single time she tried, until I was 17 plus. She was always saying that I should start caring for my skin early and sunblock is very important blah blah. I say blah but, IT CERTAINLY IS IMPORTANT!

If you don't use sunblock, then all those previous steps of prepping and caring for your skin will be kinda pointless. Furthermore, we are living in sunny Singapore! When we have the sun mercilessly shining on us all year round. And what do we get from all those sun exposure? UV rays which our skin does not entirely benefit from other than the vitamin D, because UV rays are the primary cause of spot formation! Which is why sunblock is a very essential step in our skincare regime. I am glad I took my aunt's advice in the end at the age of 17 plus, well it's better late than never right?

The reason why I didn't want to use sunblock was because most of the sunblocks I've tried makes my skin feel greasy, oily and uncomfortable, you know like you can feel a layer of something on your face? And it's not a very pleasant feeling. I disliked this feeling to that extent that I would go swimming and do water sports without putting sunblock at all. Hmm not very good for my skin now that I look back. But anyway, moving on haha.

So whenever I am shopping for sunblock, my main concern is that it cannot feel greasy or oily on my skin and definitely not feel heavy. That is the reason why I like this sunblock! It does not feel greasy/oily or heavy on my skin. Plus, it's SPF 50! Not only that, it also contains powerful anti-oxidants. And it leaves my skin feeling smooth and matte making it a very good base for my makeup to glide on. It literally, glides on.

Do you know the one thing that all the products have in common? THE SCENT! I absolutely love the scent which all the products have, especially the essence and the moisturizer. It smells so good it's like a make-you-feel-good smell. Really. So other than heading down to Estee Lauder counters to try out this new line, you should also head down to have a whiff of the products too haha. The scent is lovely.

So, I have been using the products for about 2 weeks plus now and my honest verdict is that it does what it claims it can achieve. My skin definitely is less dull and more radiant than I remembered it to be. I could actually already see the difference when I tried it only on half of my face at the workshop. The difference is more evident like that because you can see the before and the after. So if you haven't tried the products at any Estee Lauder counters yet, do head down now!

Estee Lauder CyberWhite Brilliant Cells Collection

To start off this post, I would first like to thank Estee Lauder Singapore and OMY.sg for organizing this CyberWhite Blogging Challenge. I am thrilled to be one of the ten bloggers, being a part of this campaign and trying out 4 products out of the line of CyberWhite Brilliant Cells collection.

We were all invited on 19 Feb 2011 (Saturday) to the Estee Lauder CyberWhite workshop to find out more about this collection and experience it for the very first time.

Estee Lauder Singapore prepared refreshments for us, which included super delish tarts and macarons from Bakerzin.

There was this salmon tart which was very yummy. So, they were swept up pretty fast.

Okay food aside! After getting to know the fellow bloggers and the team from Estee Lauder and OMY.sg, the workshop began!

The speaker filled us in with a brief history of Estee Lauder. There was this quote by Estee Lauder that the speaker shared with us, “You only have one face, so take care of it!” This quote I thought, was very apt. Then, she gave us a presentation about the collection and the products.

And after that, it was time to try the products!

First, we were all given makeup removers to remove any trace of makeup we have on our faces.

Then we were given the Full Spectrum Brightening Cleanser from the collection to cleanse our face, removing any dirt and grime left. Before we continued with the subsequent steps, we got the chance to ‘inspect’ our face using the portable scope!

When I say inspect, I really mean inspect. Haha. This scope shows what the naked eye can’t see. It goes beyond, so you can see your pores, blackheads, your skin’s surface and whatever you actually have on your face, magnified!

Then after that, it’s on to the subsequent steps:

After we were all done with the skincare products from the collection, it was time for the makeup products. And our ‘model-of-the-day’ was Cherie! They showed us how to achieve that dewy and natural look using their liquid foundation and mixing it with their essence.

Now we got a radiant Cherie who’s all smiles!

Then after that, we got to try out their makeup products they had prepared for us at the back of the room.

After we were “dolled back up”, it was time to take photos!

And I started using the products the very next day!

This is the first step after cleansing: The Brightening Moisture Lotion. It’s something like a toner so you need to use a cotton swab for this.

The second step: The Brightening Essence.

The third step: The Brightening Moisture Crème which is something like a moisturizer.

And the last step: The Brightening UV Protector which works like sun-block. All the products in tubes come with that seal that you see on the right of this picture.
I like this sun-block very much because it’s not greasy, doesn’t make my skin feel oily or anything. It leaves my skin looking dewy and creates a very smooth surface so makeup can glide on better. I was not used to putting sun-block at all before, because most sun-blocks I’ve tried give me that greasy, oily feeling which I do not like. But I like the texture of this product very much.
